Tawni Jackson

When did you start at Arthur Murray?

I decided life was too short to pursue jobs that didn’t feed my passions.

What was your “tipping point” for pursuing this job?

Showcase! Getting to see everyone looking so glamorous and fabulous out on that dance floor was so awesome.

Your favorite day at work so far…

Showcase! Getting to see everyone looking so glamorous and fabulous out on that dance floor was so awesome.

If you had to pick the most rewarding thing about working with your students, what would it be?

That look of excitement in their eyes when they finally nail a new move or technique.

What’s the best thing about the team you work with?

They’re like an extended family. We care about each other inside and outside of work.

How would you describe the school you work in?

Fun. Super fun. Any given day you’ll walk into our studio and hear laughter and happy conversations. There is never a dull moment.

What are some of your biggest accomplishments you’re most proud of?

Inside work tightening up my Tango. It was a hot mess when I started. Outside of work I was once able to play Annie Sullivan in The Miracle Worker and it was such an amazing experience.

What is one off-the-wall weird fact about you?

I am an uber nerd. I know the meaning of life is 42, Han shot first, that 10 loved trench coats while 11 loves fezzes, and that Riker is the man. Don’t even get me started on the different book series that I love.

Before Arthur Murray I worked as a(n)….

actress, dancer, server, front desk attendant, and personal assistant.

What sets Arthur Murray apart from all other dance studios?

That they’re focused on keeping lessons fun not just learning new moves. Some dance studios lose sight of that and can be a little militant which can make you afraid to participate. Not here. We are all about teaching you in a way that lets you leave smiling.
